UPDATED: 2:56 pm MDT June 20, 2005

A motorcycle officer from Commerce City is recovering from injuries after a Monday morning accident.

The motorcycle officer fell when a big box truck turned right in front of him.

Two uniformed officers were riding police motorcycles near City Hall in Commerce City when a large box truck turned in front of them into the municipal building.

The truck hit one of the officers, causing him to lose control and crash. The officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and is expected to fully recover.

Investigators say the truck made the turn from an improper lane. No charges have been filed at this time.

The case is still under investigation.
