DENVER -- Denver police say the two suspects possibly responsible for 100 burglaries in the metro area are finally behind bars.Robert Burzee, 35, and Brendan Jamiel, 21, were taken into custody after police discovered that they had been allegedly stealing power from their apartment complex.
Detectives began investigating when officers were called the suspects' home on the 1300 block of Marion Street on a noise complaint. When officers approached Jamiel, they found that he had been using the electricity from the complex's common area to power surveillance cameras that he and his roommate had placed throughout the building. Then when they checked his apartment, officers found numerous TVs, DVD players, CD players and many other electronic items in the home.Detectives in the police department's burglary unit say that based on the number and type of items recovered, the suspects may have committed over 100 burglaries.Police believe 200 items in the home had been stolen but since most theft victims do not keep track of the serial numbers on their property, officers are finding it tough to determine which items were stolen and to whom they belong. The Denver Police Department is going to allowing anyone who has been burglarized recently to view the items to see if they can identify them. The viewing will be at Denver Police Headquarters at 1331 Cherokee St. on Saturday, June 18.
