DENVER -- Itching to take the pedal to the medal in your custom car but don't want to be caught? Well, anyone with a need for speed can take it to the track beginning Wednesday.Take it to the Track is an annual program at Bandimere Speedway sponsored in part by the Colorado State Patrol and the Alive at 25 program. The idea is to allow teenagers to race without breaking the law or putting themselves and others in danger.
"Continuing the Take it to the Track program with the Colorado State Patrol and Alive at 25 will create added focus and exposure for youth to utilize this safe alternative to street racing. We look forward to hosting these 22 events with the Alive at 25 program, along with their sponsors, and creating positive results in our community," said John "Sporty" Bandimere III, general manager of Bandimere Speedway.The program starts Wednesday night and continues for 22 Wednesday nights through the summer. The cost is $30 per driver and any type of vehicle can participate. Participants can make as many runs as they wish for the duration of the event. Spectators pay $10, with children 12 and under having free admission.Alive at 25 is a defensive driving course for drivers 15 to 24 years old.More Information:
