Two men who matched the descriptions of the suspects who robbed a WestStar Bank in Vail were arrested Tuesday morning at Denver International Airport, police said.

It is the second time in a week that suspects involved a violent crime have been caught at DIA.

In the Monday morning Vail robbery, two men wearing black ski masks brandished semiautomatic weapons as they separated the two female employees and then stole an undisclosed amount of money from the bank vault.

The bank employees said the robbers were white men with Australian or European accents.

A Denver police detective stationed at the airport had just received a picture of the suspects Tuesday morning when he spotted them in line at one of the security checkpoints, police said.

Both men were arrested without incident.

The FBI and the Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force are continuing to investigate the case.

The Denver police chief, the Vail police chief and the detective who spotted the suspects will hold a press conference Wednesday afternoon at Denver police headquarters to provide further details. Agents with the FBI and the Immigrations Customs Enforcement will also describe their part in the capture of the suspects.

Last Tuesday, it was another alert Denver detective who spotted two suspicious men who were eventually linked to a home invasion robbery earlier that day in Jefferson County.
