Ramseys Claim They Were Set Up
Latest Revelation In New Chapter Of Their Book
Writing in an updated chapter in the paperback version of their book, "The Death of Innocence," John and Patsy Ramsey said they believed that they had answered all questions from police and prosecutors during the interviews in the Atlanta offices of their attorney, Lin Wood.
They wrote that they were surprised when Beckner told reporters afterward that they had not answered all the questions.
"As Patsy, Lin and I were saying goodbye to Chief Mark Beckner, he made a casual, yet seemingly preplanned comment: 'Well, we actually had a lot of questions that we didn't get answered,' " John Ramsey wrote in the updated chapter of the book. "Wham! We were being set up!"
Beckner has declined comment on the latest Ramsey charge.
Six-year-old JonBenet was found murdered in her Boulder home in 1996. No one has been charged and a grand jury failed to hand up an indictment, but police have said her parents are still under suspicion.
The Ramseys have consistently denied any role in their daughter's death. They now live in an Atlanta suburb.
