A group of Colorado doctors heading to southeast India to provide medical care to tsunami victims. They’ve been assembled by Cherry Hills Community Church in Highlands Ranch and a non-profit, Christian-based group that helps people the poor in India. The group is called the "Dalit Freedom Network." For information, visit their Web site at www.dalitnetwork.org.To donate to the orphanage in Sri Lanka featured on 7NEWS, go to Lotus Bud Children's Home Web site or you can donate money through Community Concern Society's Web site.Lisa Novak and her husband, Marty Claar, took their organization, the Claar Foundation, which deals with international adoptions and orphanages, and decided to do something about the tsunami disaster. They're raising money to build at least one orphanage in Thailand and another in Sri Lanka. They understand the process will take six months to a year, so in the meantime they are working on getting the kids back to school. The Claar Foundation plans on sending school supplies and lining up teachers to help get the children back into a normal routine. To learn more, go to Claar Foundation.org.Tax deductible donations to the Tamil Association of Colorado can also be mailed to P.O. Box 270243, Littleton, CO 80127, or deposited at Red Rocks Credit Union in Highlands Ranch. Check or money orders should be payable to the association with "Tsunami Relief Fund" under memo.
