Teen Who Killed Cousin In Crash Faces Misdemeanor Charge

Police Believe Roger Teel Fell Asleep While Driving

The Aurora teen who fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a parked truck, killing his cousin, will face a misdemeanor charge of careless driving resulting in death.

Roger Teel, 18, was driving his Honda Civic near Castle Rock Tuesday morning when his car veered off Interstate 25 and rammed into a truck parked on the shoulder. His cousin, Terrence Teel, was sitting on the passenger seat and died of head and neck injuries.

Both were on their way to school when the 7 a.m. crash occurred.
