FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Colorado State University officials announced Thursday that seven students have been removed from school and another 15 were placed on probation for their alleged participation in two recent off-campus street riots. The actions follow the completion of university judicial hearings that began last week regarding the early morning riots of Aug. 21 and 22, CSU officials said.
The seven students removed from school were suspended from Colorado State for one year. "While they may reapply at that time, there is no guarantee of readmission, and they must have met several conditions set by the institution before they are even eligible to reapply," a statement from the university said. The 15 students placed on probation will be required to complete drug and alcohol assessments as well as workshops regarding civic responsibility, ethics, city ordinances and community expectations. Two other students received warnings.
