Skier Sues Snowboarder Over Severed Finger

Aspen Woman Suing Texas Man Over 2002 Collision

POSTED: 8:54 am MDT June 3, 2004

An Aspen, Colo., skier has sued a Texas snowboarder for allegedly colliding with her and severing part of her pinky finger at Snowmass, Colo.

Dorothy Wildman, 61, filed the suit this week against Evan O'Donnel of Palestine, Texas over a December 2002 accident on the ski slope.

The suit alleges that Wildman had just gotten off a lift and was bending over, adjusting her ski boots when O'Donnell got off the same lift and collided with her and severing her pinky finger with his snowboard.

Wildman's suit claims she "sustained severe and permanent injuries, damages and losses that have and may continue to prevent her from engaging in her usual duties, hobbies, occupations and avocations," according to the Aspen Daily News.

The suit seeks a jury trial and an unspecified amount in damages.
