Eagle DA's Office Evacuated In Haz-Mat Scare

Prankster Leaves Envelope With White Powder, 7NEWS Reports

The Eagle County District Attorney's Office in Eagle, Colo., was evacuated Monday afternoon after a white powdery substance was found in an envelope, 7NEWS reported.

The building was evacuated around 4 p.m., sources told 7NEWS, after an employee opened the envelope from a known prankster and found the powder.

About 12 employees were in the office when it was ordered evacuated and hazardous materials crews were called in.

There was no word if the envelope has any connection to the district attorney's case against Los Angeles Laker star Kobe Bryant, but the office has received hundreds of threats since those charges were filed, 7NEWS reported.

It was also no immediately known if the person who left the envelope was taken into custody.
