CSP Troopers Injured In Highway Accident

UPDATED: 1:22 pm MDT April 12, 2004

Snowy wet weather is believed to have contributed to an accident late Sunday night that sent two state troopers to the hospital.

The accident occurred at southbound Interstate 25 at the Highway 7 exit.

Two Colorado State Patrol officers made a stop on southbound I-25 to check on an accident in the northbound lanes. They both put on their emergency lights but a pickup truck rear-ended the back vehicle, causing it to crash into the other patrol car.

Traffic was slow moving in both lanes. Officials say wet roads and poor visibility contributed to the accident.
