DENVER -- Many of us here at Denver's 7 said a last goodbye to 7NEWS Meteorologist Pam Daale.
During her funeral service, family, close friends and colleagues grieved her death and also celebrated her incredible life, which has touched so many people.
Pam passed away Sunday after battling cancer for 20 months. She was 40 years old. She leaves behind her husband of 12 years and an 8-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son. The following are some of the words spoken at the memorial service, held on Wednesday morning.
"Now she is in heaven dancing with God in a field of grace with no pain, no cancer, and no wheelchair," said Pam's 8-year-old daughter, Taryn. "Mom was strong in faith, nothing could stop her from loving God. It's sad she died but she went in peace.""She faced two battles with cancer. The second time the odds were really against her. She knew it, but she didn't give up. Pam never gave up," said Don Peitzman, Pam's husband. "I'm not so sure Pam wasn't an angel who was given a mission to come to earth. They say sometimes angels are all around us and we don't see them.""Father God, we come here today to remember and celebrate one of your special people. What a gift Pam was and how well she lived her life," said the Rev. Shawn Sikkema of Eastern Hills Community Church. "We come today with heavy hearts because we love her.""'I am in TV. I am not of TV.' Pam said those exact words to me five years ago. Pam had the wisdom to know that fame is fleeting and celebrity, ultimately, is hollow. She had the wisdom to see the simple gifts that make life beautiful, to feel the love that gives life depth, to grasp the faith that gives life meaning," said 7NEWS Meteorologist Marty Coniglio. "I want to say thank you for sharing her with us. We've been touched, we've been uplifted and we will be forever grateful."
"Her suffering is over. We miss her, my family and myself always miss her, but her suffering is over and she's gone to heaven," said Don."To know that in a way she could never dance here on earth, she now dances in heaven," said Sikkema. "She will soar on wings like eagles, she will run."Pam's family has chosen the Susan G. Komen organization for those wanting to contribute to a memorial fund. Checks can be mailed to:
