The teenager accused of murdering a local taxi cab driver may be connected with another deadly stabbing.
Denver police are trying to figure out if 19-year-old Amber Torrez is connected with the death of the founder of the Colorado Free University.
Torrez was arrested last Monday. She was caught leaving the scene of 18th and Gilpin, where cab driver Masfin Gezaghn was stabbed to death. Officers found his body just after 2:45 a.m. Torrez had what appeared to be blood on her at the time officers took her in to custody. The Sunday before Gezaghn was stabbed, police found 55-year-old John Hand in an apartment on the 700 block of Elm Street, just before 1 a.m. The founder of Colorado Free University had also been stabbed and was rushed to the hospital where he later died.Police are now looking into similarities in both stabbings.
