A 16-year-old girl was arrested early Friday morning when Boulder deputies clocked her car traveling 100 mph in a 55-mph zone. When they pulled her over near State Highway 119 and 55th Street at 4 a.m., she had an estimated blood alcohol level nearly six times the legal limit, the Boulder County Sheriff's Department said.Three teens were also inside the girl's black 2004 Mazda sedan. Two of the three passengers were cited for drinking under age and the third for possession of drug paraphernalia and less than 1 ounce of marijuana.
Because the car was speeding and the girl was allegedly drunk, deputies believe one or more of the occupants in the car could have been killed if the car had not been stopped. The girl faces charges for driving under the influence, reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, underage drinking and unlawful operation of a motor vehicle between midnight and 5 a.m.
