'Zoo' Worker Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Girls

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. -- Deputies have arrested a man in Fort Collins on suspicion that he inappropriately touched several girls.James William Swets, 46, was arrested on multiple felony counts of sexual assault against a child, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, enticement of a child and criminal attempt - unlawful sexual contact.Swets is a member of the Swets family that operates the Swetsville Zoo near I-25. The "zoo" houses a collection of metal animals and characters made from old parts.
Swets lives and works at the zoo.Swets' wife told 7NEWS the allegations are somebody's word against his.Investigators said they have identified seven juvenile female victims in the Fort Collins area and they believe there may be more victims.Police believe the assaults took place over a two-year period and primarily involved inappropriate touching.Swets is also believed to have given the girls alcohol and cigarettes, deputies said.
