DENVER -- The Occupy Denver movement is growing outside the state capitol. The protest, born out of the Occupy Wall Street movement, is drawing people from all walks of life. “There are a lot of people who want their voice heard,” said Fletcher Davis.
Davis was among a small group of people who held signs calling for reform in downtown Denver Friday. Some protesters who showed up said they were speaking out against the wars overseas, others against corporate greed. 7NEWS tried tracking down the organizer behind the Denver protest. No one would take credit. 7NEWS did discover the protests, spreading across the country are the brainchild of the Canadian non-profit Adbusters. The Adbusters website says the protests are meant to protest the “monied corruption of democracy.” It’s a message that appears to be catching on with some. A rally and march are planned Saturday at noon as part of the Occupy Denver protest.
