DENVER -- The calendar still says summer, but the mountains got a dusting of snow overnight.Workers arriving at Arapahoe Basin on Thursday found a dusting of snow on the peaks. At 9 a.m. Thursday it was snowing off and on above 11,000 feet, according to New Media and Marketing Manager Kimberly Trembearth.
Arapahoe Basin COO/VP Alan Henceroth said the snow puts them that much closer to being able to make snow. While last year's snow has not completely melted at Breckenridge, the peaks there also got a fresh dusting on Thursday morning.Fall starts Sept. 23.
