5280 Magazine published its "Top of the Town" picks in its July issue and announced that 7NEWS Anchor Anne Trujillo was the Editor's Choice in the News Anchor category.

5280 Magazine said Trujillo presents "a glimpse of what matters in a way that conveys she's considered the facts -- and cares."

The magazine said Trujillo shows intelligence and empathy as she reports the weekday news at 3, 5 and 10, with co-anchor Mike Landess.

Founded in 1993, 5280 is the largest local magazine in Colorado, with a total distribution of 85,000. The magazine unveiled its new look in its July issue and said it is the best-selling magazine of any kind on local newsstands. The redesign was the result of a year-long effort by its editorial team.

Anne started her broadcasting career at a Denver radio station. From there, Anne moved on to television stations in Scottsbluff and Omaha, Neb., before returning home to Colorado in September 1984 as a 7NEWS general assignment reporter.

Anne is an award-winning broadcast journalist. Her reporting and anchoring work has been recognized by the National Association of Television Arts and Sciences, the Colorado Broadcasters Association, The Associated Press, and Women in Communications. She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Throughout her career, Anne has been very active in the community. She currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Kempe Center, and is chair of the Advisory Council for Escuela de Guadalupe, a K-5 school in Denver. She is also a member of the Latino Outreach Committee of the Denver Art Museum.

In addition, Anne serves on the board of "WINS," Women's Initiative for Networking and Success, a McGraw-Hill Companies initiative to provide skills for advancement to women within the company.

Anne has also received numerous awards for service to the community from Mi Casa Resource Center, RAAP, Rape Assistance and Awareness Program, Museo de las Americas, and LAEF among many others.

Anne is married, has two children, and still makes her home in Littleton, Colo., where she grew up.
