A Highlands Ranch father has confessed to being a peeping Tom but authorities believe he may have had more than one victim.

Detectives say Keith John Mionczynski, 37 (pictured, left), climbed on top of a 9-foot partition at an Arapahoe county tanning salon and spied on a woman using a tanning bed on Jan. 28.

"This individual has victimized at least one person that we know of, possibly more," said Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson.

Robinson said he'd received three calls in January about a possible peeping Tom at the Darque Tan salon, located on the 7000 block of South University Boulevard in Centennial.

Detectives set up surveillance and within weeks of the first incident, they received another call.

"She looked up and saw a white male peering down a partial wall at her," Robinson said. "The alleged perpetrator stood on a bed and pulled himself up a wall to peek over."

The woman screamed and the suspect ran. The victim reported the incident to the manager who checked the room next to hers and discovered that the tanning booth was on, but the man who had been using the room was gone.

That man, Mionczynski, was questioned by deputies and during the interview, he confessed to the one incident but detectives say there may be others.

A 17-year-old girl said she was spotted a peeping tom on Jan. 8.

C.J. Edwards said she had suspicions she was being watched while tanning in a private room.

"I heard some noises above my head and I looked up," Edwards said.

Police haven't connected her case to the others. She said she's still shaken up by the incident.

"It creeped me out a lot," Edwards said.

The owner of Darque Tan said he is angry about the incidents, especially since Mionczynski had been a loyal customer since the salon opened more than a year ago.

"Immediately when this happened, I called my architect and said we need to make it more safe, even though I go the extra yard as it is," said salon owner Tod Holley.

Holley plans to add another 8 inches in height to the walls, but said there needs to be some gap to provide proper ventilation in the rooms.

"We'll do everything possible to make sure our lady customers feel comfortable," Holley said.

But Edwards said she won't tan again until the walls reach the ceiling.

Mionczynski will appear in court on March 2 to face charges of unlawful sexual contact, a class 1 misdemeanor. He faces 6 to 18 months in jail and up to a $5,000 fine.
