Police Chase Ends In Deadly Head-On Crash
Driver Hits Oncoming Car In Thornton

THORNTON, Colo. -- A head-on accident during a police pursuit killed one person and sent two others to area hospitals Thursday afternoon.
The chase started in Commerce City when a police officer attempted to stop a car, but it fled. The chase went north into Thornton, where the vehicle being pursued crashed into an oncoming car at 112th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard (pictured, left).
A teenager in the car that was hit died and a woman in the same car was reported in critical condition Thursday night. It was not known which one was driving at the time of the accident.
Officers from several jurisdictions were involved in the chase. The Colorado State Patrol said speeds reached 100 mph during the pursuit.
