For the first time in 16 years, Colorado's second largest city elected a new mayor and he has a very familiar name.
Ed Tauer, 44, is the son of Aurora's current mayor, Paul Tauer. Tauer (pictured, left) who grew up in Aurora, beat out Debra Vickrey and Bob LeGare in Tuesday's elections.
The new mayor said that the future of Aurora involved working with Denver to attract more business to Aurora, especially around the Denver International Airport area, and nurturing the health industry around Fitzsimons.
"The key is to work with the businesses in our community. We have a lot of small businesses in Aurora that are terrific people so that's a key, " Tauer said.
Tauer's father, Paul Tauer, has served as Aurora's mayor for the last 16 years.
