Police Arrest Man At Mall

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- After a six-week investigation, Colorado Springs police arrested a youth pastor Wednesday on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.Joshua Amoroso, 21, worked as a youth pastor at Gateway Church in Colorado Springs. Church officials said Amoroso was terminated Oct. 18 when the investigation started.Police said a 14-year-old girl told them that she had had sexual contact with Amoroso at multiple locations around Colorado Springs.
Officers arrested Amoroso at the Chapel Hills Mall in Colorado Springs Wednesday.Investigators said they are concerned there may be more victims of sexual abuse by Amoroso."Gateway Church requires those who minister on its behalf to model right conduct," said Derek Sissel, senior pastor at Gateway Church, in a statement to KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs. "It, therefore, will not tolerate the conduct of any minister who exploits a person he is supposed to serve. Please pray for any person hurt by the recent circumstances, and pray for our Church. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement."
