Elbert County Assessor Indicted On Embezzlement Charges
Trostel Was Issued Summons On 28 Counts

KIOWA, Colo. -- The Elbert County Assessor was indicted Friday, accused of embezzling public property, attempting to influence a public official, theft, forgery and perjury.Phyllis Jean Trostel, 53, was issued a summons on 28 counts, most of them felonies.Trostel is expected to appear in Elbert County District Court on Sept. 20.
Trostel was elected as Assessor in 2006.Details the of indictment were not available because Elbert County Court was closed Friday.
