Natl. Guard Launches Helicopter For Rescue Operation

The Colorado National Guard has launched a Black Hawk helicopter to help rescue a man who is sick near Deer Lake at 11,000 feet.

The UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter with four citizen-soldiers and emergency services personnel on board was launched about 11:10 a.m. from the high-altitude Army National Guard Aviation training site in Gypsum.

The man is ill near Dear Lake at approximately 11,000 feet, officials said. Deer Lake is in the vicinity of Glenwood Springs.
