Thornton Woman Dies When Jeep Falls Off Cliff
Driver Ejected Near Georgetown Lake

THORNTON, Colo. -- A 33-year-old Thornton woman was killed after her car went off a road and plunged down a cliff, the Colorado State Patrol said.The CSP said the accident occurred late Friday afternoon, south of Georgetown Lake.Cristal Newell was ejected from the Jeep Wrangler as it rolled numerous times down the steep mountainside, coming to a rest after about 1,200 feet.
Her husband, Marcus, was not in the Jeep with her but he sustained several injuries when he tried to climb down the mountain to assist her. He was transported to St. Anthony Central Hospital in Denver.Newell was the owner of Mile High Mutts in Denver.The cause of the crash is under investigation.
