Police: Improperly Restrained Toddler Injured In Lakewood Crash

Parents, Other Driver Ticketed In T-Bone Crash At 14th & Larimer

POSTED: 4:37 pm MDT September 2, 2010

The parents of a toddler were issued citations after the child was ejected during a Thursday morning crash in Lakewood.

According to police, a minivan ran a stop sign at 14th Avenue and Larimer Street shortly after 11 a.m.

The minivan the 2-year-old was in was broadsided and flipped onto its roof, throwing the baby from the vehicle.

Police said the toddler was in a built-in car seat and not in a proper baby seat at the time of the crash. The integrated car seat is used for older children and did not properly restrain the child, according to police.

The 2-year-old was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other minivan was ticketed for running a stop sign, police said.
