A mother bear and her two cubs broke into a home in Colorado Springs on Thursday morning scaring the housekeeper and homeowner inside.

The Division of Wildlife told 7NEWS they got the call about 11:40 a.m. Thursday about the bear break-in on Sanford Road, near the Broadmoor Hotel.

KRDO-TV reported that the housekeeper ran into a closet for safety, and the homeowner ran outside and called police. The homeowner and housekeeper told the TV station they were able to see the bears "tearing apart" the kitchen.

Wildlife officers chased the bears outside the home, but the bears didn't leave, they climbed a tree.

Wildlife officers tranquilized the bears and removed them from the neighborhood. Officials said the bears will be euthanized.
