Police Officer Attacked By Homeless Man
Officer Asked For Man's ID; Was Attacked

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A Colorado Springs police officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a head injury after being attacked by a homeless man Tuesday morning, reported KRDO.The officer, whose name was not released, was on bike patrol on the path under the I-25 and Cimarron on-ramp. He had asked the transient for his ID when the man attacked, police said.
The officer's partner used a stun gun to subdue the transient, police said.
