A juvenile who left a gas station without paying led troopers on a high-speed chase along Interstate 70 at speeds reaching 100 mph Tuesday morning, police said.

The girl left the gas station in Arriba, Colo., without paying $35 for gas at the DJ Petrol gas station, said Colorado State Patrol spokeswoman Heather Cobbler.

She was spotted on Interstate 70 and twice troopers began chasing her but backed off after the teen started driving recklessly, the patrol said.

Aurora police said they set up stop sticks along I-70 at Tower Road, which punctured the tires of the girl's green Grand AM. She pulled over near the Pena Exit and was taken into custody at about 8 a.m., Cobbler said.

The Grand AM was reported stolen out of Westminster, she said.

The girl's name will not be released because she is a juvenile. Cobbler said she faces charges of motor vehicle theft, vehicular eluding, theft of fuel and speeding.
