POSTED: 2:10 pm MDT July 30, 2010
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Focus on the Family says more of its employees are being laid off, but the numbers haven't been released. Gary Schneeberger, a spokesman for the conservative Christian ministry, said the employees were notified Friday."Today is family time," he said. "We'll have more to say publicly about our reduction in force on Monday."
The Colorado Springs-based ministry has reduced its work force from 1,400 to 860 since 2002. The most recent previous cutbacks were in 2009, when the group laid off 75 employees and left 57 vacant positions empty.
