Colo. Springs Police Investigate 2 Fatal Shootings
Slayings Don't Appear Related

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Colorado Springs police are investigating two shootings within hours of each other that left two men dead.Police said a 23-year-old man was shot at the Park Ridge Apartments, at 3820 Radiant Dr., at 9:16 p.m Thursday. He was taken to Memorial Hospital with a head wound but died shortly after he arrived. The shooter was seen running from the complex.The victim has been identified as Colorado Springs resident Timothy Roath, according to police. An autopsy by the El Paso Coroner's Office determined that the death was a homicide caused by a gunshot wound.
Police said the shooting did not appear to be random.Another man in his mid-20s was killed at 3:05 a.m. Friday near 1070 South Chelton Rd., less than five miles from the first location. Police said a white car was seen leaving the area in that case.The names of the victims have not been released. No one has been arrested and there are currently no suspects in either slaying.Police said the two shootings don't appear to be related.Anyone with information in either slaying is encouraged to call police at 719-444-7000 or they can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP.
