Body Found In Washington May Be Wanted Denver Man
Decomposed Remains Found On Lake Shore

CHEHALIS, Wash. -- The Lewis County sheriff's office in Washington said a badly decomposed body found Wednesday on the shore of Riffe Lake may be that of a 49-year-old man wanted on murder charges in Denver.The sheriff's office said that detectives found identification in a backpack next to the body. Authorities have not made positive identification, but the say the Denver man's vehicle was found near the Blue Lake campground, outside Randle in April.Authorities said the Denver man is wanted in connection with the death of 30-year-old Rose C. Westendorf, who was found slain in a home in the 4600 block of South Lowell Boulevard on March 25. An autopsy determined she died from a blow to the head.
According to Denver police, the body found in Washington state is believed to be James Sprague, a suspect in Westendorf's slaying.The Lewis County coroner is working to positively identify the body and determine how the man died.
