DENVER -- The eye doctor found guilty of medical malpractice in Nevada last month is now being investigated by the Colorado State Medical Board.Last month, the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners found Dr. Paul Cutarelli "failed to use reasonable care, skill and knowledge on more than one occasion with his Lasik patients."7NEWS has now learned that the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), has received information from Nevada sufficient to launch its own investigation of Cutarelli's eye surgery practice in Colorado.
Any action taken by the board will be made public according to Chris Lines, spokesman for DORA.Since the story broke last month, several former patients of Cutarelli have contacted 7NEWS to share their stories. In at least three of those cases, patients said their sight is worse as a result of surgery with Cutarelli.
