CASTLE ROCK, Colo. -- The Douglas County teenager, whose car was hit by a train, returned to school Monday.
Missy Martin, 17 (pictured, left), used a walker to get around Douglas County High School in Castle Rock. She's is resuming school where she left off last November after the accident.
Martin was critically injured after he car stalled at a railroad crossing in Castle Rock and her car was broadsided by a freight train Nov. 12. She was in a coma for two months after the accident.
Martin says she has already set some high expectations for herself. She hopes to get all As, and be out of her walker by Christmas.
"It was good to see everybody and when I first got to school old friends met me in the morning and walked me to class and that was really fun," Martin said.
Martin was a cheerleader at the high school before the accident and the cheerleading squad has held a spot open just for her.
