DENVER -- A judge could rule as early as Monday if he'll release tapes of 911 calls made from Kobe Bryant's accuser's home earlier this year before the alleged assault happened.
One expert said the tapes may not be admissible in court.
"They will be of marginal, if any, relevance and should not be allowed in court," said Kimberly Guilfoyle Newsom, legal consultant for ABC NEWS. "If this information becomes public, the judge could redact the tapes if they're of a personal, private or privileged nature involving any kind of psychiatric or mental health issue condition of the victim."
The victim's friend, Lindsey McKinney, said the woman twice
overdosed on sleeping pills -- once in her dorm room at the University of Northern Colorado in February and once in May at her home in Eagle.
University of Northern Colorado police Chief Terry Urista confirmed that an officer found a woman in her dorm room at about 9 p.m. on Feb. 25 and "an officer determined she was a danger to herself."
The 911 tape that is under consideration were the calls made by the victim's parents when they found her in her bedroom.
According to her friends, the 19-year-old was going through an extremely difficult period in her life at the time of the overdose. She returned home from her freshman year of college to find out her ex-boyfriend was dating another woman. Also, around the time of the overdose, a close friend died in an accident while returning from high school graduation ceremonies.
The 19-year-old hotel worker has accused NBA star Kobe Bryant of raping her while he stayed at the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera.
