Organs Donated After Ski Crash Victim Declared Brain Dead
Family Vacation Turns To Tragedy

DENVER -- A 13-year-old Texas girl who struck a tree while skiing at Beaver Creek has been declared brain dead.Eagle County Coroner Kara Bettis said Taylor Storch, of Coppell, Texas, sustained multiple injuries in the Sunday crash.Witnesses said the girl, who was wearing a helmet, fell backward on the intermediate Latigo trial and slid off the run into a tree.
Storch was airlifted to St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction where she was declared brain dead Monday afternoon."Words cannot begin 2 explain our sorrow, sadness & helplessness," said her father, Todd Storch, in a Twitter post. "God gave us Taylor for (less than) 14 yrs. To know her or of her is a blessing."Todd Storch told The Aspen Times that he and his wife had decided to donate their daughter's organs."She would have given her arm if someone needed it," he said. "It's comforting ... to know my daughter will help someone tonight and in the morning."
