2 Colo. Residents Die, 2 Hurt In Ariz. Crash

KINGMAN, Ariz. -- Two Colorado residents were killed and two others were injured following a crash on Interstate 40 near Kingman. The Arizona Department of Public Safety says a 2003 Nissan drifted off the westbound lane and rolled over Saturday morning, about 10 miles west of Kingman. The DPS identified the dead as 19-year-old Damon R. Johnson of Pine and 20-year-old Katelyn M. Henning of Littleton.
Driver 20-year-old Andrew Schall of Bailey, Colo., was treated for minor injuries, and 19-year-old passenger Nichole Franco of Littleton was taken to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment.According to Colorado State University both Henning and Schall are students. Henning was a sophomore business major and Schall is a senior health and exercise science major.The four were on their way to California for spring break, said Carol Schmidt,of Bailey, a family friend of the driver, Andrew Schall."Seat belts were in use by the driver alone and in the officer's opinion would have prevented injuries/fatalities if used by all occupants," according to a DPS press release.
