50 Most Wanted Revealed

Police Will Conduct Round-Up This Weekend

POSTED: 8:31 pm MST March 13, 2010
UPDATED: 9:30 am MDT March 14, 2010

Several metro-area law enforcement agencies have unveiled 2010's 50 most wanted list.

Police are going after some of the most hardened, and dangerous criminals in the region.

All 50 are wanted on felony warrants and police believe they are all dangerous.

They are men and women who are wanted for crimes ranging from murder to sexual assault on a child.

Police say one good tip from the public is all they need to put these individuals behind bars.

"These are not tax paying citizens. This is not John Q. Citizen. These are not good people. These are people who continue to commit crimes to finance their run from law enforcement," said Lt. Tony Lopez with the Denver Police Department.

Last year, police were able to capture 35 of the 50 most wanted.

On the first day of the operation, they captured six of the most wanted just from the publicity on television and in the newspaper.

There are currently about 30,000 people wanted on felony warrants in Colorado according to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

About 300 of those are thought to be violent offenders.
