Family Pleads For Help Finding Killer

$20,000 Reward Offered In Case Of Slain Apartment Manager

Grief-stricken family members of a Centennial woman who was stabbed to death last week are pleading with the public to help police find her killer.

"We're all in shock," said Michael Pham, the victim's husband. "We're still trying to figure this all out. Why it happened to someone as good as Lyn."

Lyndsay Pham, 46, was found in the front office of the Descanso Plaza Apartments at 16th Avenue & Kingston Street in Aurora.

She'd been stabbed multiple times.

"This has been a heartbreaking event for all of us," said Luan Pho, a cousin.

And it's not just family members who are grieving. So are long time friends.

"I remember Lyn as the spunky one," said Mike Boessen, a member of the church that sponsored Lyndsay's family when it first immigrated to the United States.

"There were a few Vietnam Vets in the town going, 'Grrrrrr, bringing these Vietnamese people here,' and three days later the whole town was in love with them," Boessen said. "And to have this happen to a bright, beautiful girl hurts."

Pho told 7NEWS that family and friends put up money for the reward because they want the killer caught.

"Not for revenge," he said, "but to help protect the community. He’s a dangerous individual."

Det. Bob Friel, of the Aurora Police Department, told 7NEWS that the $15,000 offered by the family and $5,000 offered by police are an incentive to get someone who knows something about the case to come forward.

"I think the whole community wants to see this person put in jail for this heinous crime," Friel said. "And that's our goal."

Family members say Lyndsay Pham was an outgoing individual who would go out of her way to help people she didn’t even know.

A funeral Mass will be held for Pham at 10 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church in Wheat Ridge.

Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
