DENVER -- After Darrent Williams' killer was convicted Thursday, the mother and other relatives of the slain Denver Bronco left flowers and notes on the spot where he was gunned down in 2007.

"DWill -- We got him Bro'," a family member wrote in a note left with two bouquets of flowers at the base of a tree on a triangular grassy lot beside Speer Boulevard and 11th Avenue.

The note referred to Willie D. Clark, an accused gang member who was convicted of first-degree murder and 20 other charges in the drive-by shooting that killed Williams and wounded two others early New Year's Day

"I know you smilin' up there like we are down there. Already!" the note added.

The scene is where a white Hummer stretch-limousine carrying the mortally wounded 23-year-old cornerback and 17 others came to rest after the surprise attack.

A Broncos blue-and-orange rubber wristband bearing "Darrent Williams 27," his jersey number, laid by the flowers.

"Love you, baby. Mom," Rosalind Williams wrote in a note to her only son.

"Little D, We miss you and our love for you will never die, " read a note signed "Ray, Trey and Mona."

"Already! 27 4-Ever," another note said.
