Wedding Ring Rescued From Storm Drain

Ring Lost During Bachelor Party Trip

Talk about customer service: Vail employees went digging through the mud to find a man's wedding ring in a storm drain.

Chris Cook of Portland, Ore. lost the ring last weekend in Vail when he shook hands with someone. The ring slipped off and went down a Vail Village storm drain.

Cook and friends took the storm drain cover off, but couldn't find the ring in the sediment and mud.

Cook's friend Bryan Jones didn't give up. Jones called the town of Vail for help.

A crew from the public works department pumped out the water, dug through the dirt and sediment and found the ring, according to the Vail Daily newspaper.

The town of Vail has been promoting good customer service among its employees.

"One good deed gets out and we get more guests and more people to visit Vail," Charlie Turnbull with Vail Public Works, told the newspaper. "And that's our goal — to try to get more people to come back and return to Vail and get us back to No. 1."
