THORNTON, Colo. -- Police seized as many as 200 marijuana plants during a raid at a property they believe was being used as a grow operation. The same Adams County property was raided a few years ago for explosives and marijuana, said Jim Gerhardt, spokesman for the North Metro Drug Task Force.Three people have been taken into custody for questioning.
Gerhardt said police executed a search warrant at a home near East 160th Avenue and Ulster Street. The owner of the property was not there when police arrived, but Gerhardt said police talked to him on the phone and are trying to meet with him.About 150 to 200 marijuana plants were found in hiding places, under trap doors, in some of the out-buildings and in the rafters, Gerhardt said.Police believe the property was being used as a processing and grow operation, and authorities said the owner might claim the plants were all for medicinal purposes.
