Gov Ritter Home After 4 Days In Hospital

Governor Will Work On Limited Schedule

POSTED: 12:15 pm MST March 6, 2010
UPDATED: 8:11 am MST March 7, 2010

Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter is out of the hospital and back home recovering from six broken ribs he suffered in a bicycle accident.

Aides to the governor said Ritter was released from Denver Health Medical Center and was at home resting Saturday. The governor was hurt Tuesday on an early morning bicycle ride with four friends.

Ritter fell when his wheel hit that of another rider. That rider suffered a minor injury, but the governor took the worst of it. Besides the broken ribs, Ritter had a dislocated shoulder.

Doctors have cleared the governor to work, though aides said Ritter will keep a limited schedule over the next week or so as he recovers.
