GOLDEN, Colo. -- A man accused of shooting and wounding two Colorado students last week now faces 15 counts including attempted murder, assault and child abuse.

Prosecutors formally filed charges Tuesday against 32-year-old Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood, accused of opening fire in the parking lot of Deer Creek Middle School in suburban Denver on Feb. 23.

Eastwood faces 15 criminal counts including four attempted first-degree murder charges -- two for each victim under differing legal theories: after deliberation and with extreme indifference. He also faces charges of four crimes of violence, four counts of assault in the first degree, and two counts of child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury.

He faces up to 97½ years in prison, if convicted on all counts.

Eastwood wasn't in court for the hearing but appeared on a video link from the jail. He said nothing, and his public defender didn't directly address the allegations.

The judge rejected requests from the media for cameras in the courtroom and to unseal the arrest affidavit in the case.

The two students are recovering from their wounds. Classes resumed at the middle school on Monday.
