Highlands Ranch Home Struck By Lightning
Lightning Strike Scorches Roof
UPDATED: 12:54 p.m. MDT June 13, 2003
Afternoon thunderstorms are common this time of year but Thursday's storms did more than sprinkle a little rain.
Lightning struck the roof of a Highlands Ranch home on the 2300 block of Lansdowne Place, leaving a scorched hole in the attic.
No one was hurt but it was a little scary for the teenager who was resting inside.
"My brother was sleeping and it actually hit his roof so there is like a little bit of a hole there, but ... all that I remember is that it was really bright and then it hit and that was it," said resident Lahne Annandale. "My brother called us in because of the holes so then we went outside and saw the lightning. Half of our house is gone and that was the only way we found out."
The same thunderstorm brought hail to parts of Jefferson County.
