The CALL7 Investigators have discovered more information about the violent past of the man suspected of shooting two teenagers outside of Deer Creek Middle School.

CALL7 Investigator Tony Kovaleski has learned that Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood spent most of Thursday morning with a psychiatrist at the Jefferson County jail. Kovaleski learned the psychiatrist was recommended by a public defender.

Jefferson County court records show in March, 1996, Eastwood was arrested on felony menacing charges after he threatened two people with a knife at the Westminster Mall. Eastwood admitted to brandishing the knife, records show and he ultimately pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

On March 4, 1996, the Jefferson County court also granted a temporary restraining order against Eastwood that specifically stated, "The defendant, shall not possess or control a firearm or other weapon."

Just over a month later, in Adams County, court records show Eastwood was arrested after he "held a black colored 22 caliber automatic against Dustin Fishburn's right temple and said, 'If you ever take anything from me again or piss me off, I'll kill you.'"

Fishburn, who was 16 at the time, told police he feared he would be shot, according to the records.

The incident happened on April 18, 1996, around 3 o'clock in the afternoon at 2305 W. 92nd Ave. in Federal Heights.

The arrest affidavit said Fishburn stated, "Bruco Eastwood came home in a bad mood and appeared to be against everyone."

It continued, "Bruco Eastwood pushed Dustin Fishburn onto the bed," then put the gun to his temple. The gun was described as a .22 with an eagle on the handle.

In April, 1997, Eastwood pleaded guilty to third degree assault and was sentenced to three years probation, mental health counseling, anger management, domestic violence classes and forfeit his firearm.

Bruco was arrested again in Adams County in March 1997 on charges of domestic violence.

Courts records indicate Eastwood was "play fighting" with his then girlfriend, who asked Kovaleski that we not use her name.

She said she lived with Eastwood for two years in the late 90's and is trying to put that chapter of her life behind her.

The "play fighting" escalated and a witness reported, "She went into [the girlfriend's] bedroom to see what was going on. She saw Mr. Eastwood punching [the girlfriend] in the face and head several times."

Eastwood was again ordered to undergo domestic violence counseling.

Kovaleski spoke with the girlfriend on the phone who said, "I was sick to my stomach" when she learned Eastwood was suspected of the Deer Creek Middle School shooting.
