2 Charged In 'Strip Tease' Robbery, Kidnapping

Police Looking For Third Suspect

POSTED: 9:57 am MST February 25, 2010

Fort Collins police have arrested two people and are looking for a third in the kidnapping, beating and robbery of a man at his home after one of the culprits performed a "strip tease" for the victim.

The victim, Andrew "Ted" Yosses, was hospitalized with broken bones in his face after the assault on Jan. 27, police said.

According to an arrest affidavit, Hector Cruz, Audrey Aguilar and Bernadette Hamby all conspired to rob Yosses and stole a handgun, jewelry, cash and other items all totaling about $2,000.

Cruz, 37, and Bernadette, 39, have both been arrested, but police spokeswoman Rita Davis said Aguilar, who is 19 and also known as Audrey Aguilar-Vasques, has not been arrested.

Investigators said Aguilar and Hamby went to Yosses' home and took him to the back bedroom so Aguilar could perform a strip tease for him. According to the affidavit, Cruz entered the apartment and went to the back room, where he punched Yosses in the face.

Yosses was tied up and his hands bound with the power cord of the alarm clock in his bedroom, the affidavit said. He was held facedown on the bed while being punched by Cruz, it said.

Cruz faces charges of felony kidnapping, burglary, robbery and assault while Aguilar and Hamby face charges of felony kidnapping, burglary, robbery and theft, said Larimer County District Attorney spokeswoman Linda Jensen.

Cruz is scheduled to appear before a judge Friday. He is being held on a $150,000 bond.

Hamby, who was arrested Saturday, will make her first court appearance on Tuesday. She is being held on a $15,000 bond.

Police are still looking for Aguilar. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Fort Collins police at 970-416-2125.
