UPDATED: 7:08 pm MST February 8, 2010

A 16-year-old boy shot his 17-year-old brother in the neck on Monday morning during what police said was an ongoing argument.

The injuries to the older brother are not life-threatening, said John Bradley, spokesman for the Brighton Police Department.

Bradley said the shooting occurred at a residence in Brighton. The 16-year-old brother was arrested at the scene.

It wasn't immediately clear how the teens got the gun or where their parents were when the shooting happened.

The investigation is continuing.
