BEAVER CREEK, Colo. -- A Colorado ski resort has built a concert hall of ice where musicians play instruments made of ice.The Crystal Grotto at Beaver Creek is said to be North America’s only performing arts center created from ice and containing instruments carefully hand-crafted from ice.Among the instruments concert goers will see played are a guitar, xylophone and cello.
Guests are told to wear proper attire such as ski gear, because they will be sitting on ice in a building made of ice.The Crystal Grotto hosts concerts at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturdays, Sundays and select Fridays through April 4. Shows last about 45 minutes.Tickets are $10 each except for the Kids Show which is Saturdays at 3 p.m. when kids 12 & under are free.
