A crackdown on "puffers" in Aurora ended with tickets, warnings and the recovery of two stolen vehicles.

Puffers are vehicles left running unattended with the keys inside. Vehicles with remote starts where the keys are not left in the vehicle while it is running are not considered puffers.

During a crackdown on puffers by Aurora police last week, officers issued 94 warnings, four tickets and recovered two stolen vehicles, according to the Aurora Daily Sentinel.

"What our data shows is that the community has heard our message and most have responded in a positive way," Aurora police Detective Robert Friel, a spokesman for the department, told the paper in a statement.

The fine for operating a puffer is $75.
